Toka history.

Toka grew from the ashes of metal outfit "momi momi OK" who had enjoyed some success in the Japanese underground scene. However, lead singer Elise Coleman was arrested on charges of "violating the peace" after one particularly loud gig left one girl - Tomomi Tanaka - with two burst eardrums. Elise was deported soon after the court case. With no singer or guitarist the future looked bleak for the Japanese outfit. As luck would have it, three travelling street performers arrived in Japan that summer, looking to make it big in the country with their Peruvian sounds. After a chance meeting on the streets, Ken persuaded them to drop their panpipes for a more edgier type of music. Nantoka were born, during a troubled adolescence the band cunningly disposed of their dear old nan in order to sell more records...and the rest, as they say, is history.
